Passing through & stumbled upon this little joint. Fun atmosphere. Cold draft beer. Had one of our favourite beers on tap... Mango Cart & it was cheap. Just needed a snack, so had fried green tomatoes (they were served with packet ranch). I always prefer when a restaurant makes their own house dressings, instead of packets, but nonetheless, the tomatoes were good. They were crisp & fried to perfection. Clean restrooms. Friendly service. Will return next time I'm passing through.
Stopped in for lunch after seeing all the designs on the interstate advertising it . There is a family and a bar side to the restaurant. We sat at the bar . Bartender was very nice and knowledgeable. We ordered the homemade pork rinds . Good size portion and you know they are fresh because they are still popping when they come out . We added the Cajun flavoring to the top . Really good . The bartender said the chicken club was really good and there best seller so that's what I went with. Really good and great suggestion. I would definitely stop back in here if I was in the area . Love finding places like this! Traveling through Illinois and this small(not really) diner pub shows up at the right time. The food was just superb. For my sandwich, I wish the portions were a bit bigger, but what was on the plate was absolutely delicious! Every member of my party truly enjoyed their meal. So if you are driving and see this place or want to take a road trip, it's definitely worth the trip. O and, by the way, be sure to check out the weather station it might be more accurate than the meteorologists!
Here’s a complete rundown: It was an awesome place to stop at on our trip! Very informal. Restaurant is build out of the structure of a house, and very cosy feel. Service was good. Very simple menu, and great price for the food. Bar area was bright and felt lively. Food was great, and had enough in a portion to fill us! Would definitely recommend if you pass by!
This is a gem right off highway 57. The food is excellent. They have a full bar and gaming as well. Chicken wings are delicious, as are the burgers. Not a huge fan of catfish, but I am here.
Came back for the second time and I love this place. The food was awesome again. (2nd post) The best grilled chicken sandwich I've ever tasted! I can't wait to get that sandwich in my hands again. The fried green tomatoes were excellent as well.
Uhm.... Excuse me... I am officially dead! I will start from the beginning... My husband and I have been on the road for 21 hours. We were literally starving. My stomach was in my back, and it was well passed the hungry (growling, hunger gone, famished, to bubbles going up my throat, to nausea) stage! I haven't eaten since yesterday morning! We got off on the wrong exit stopped by another restaurant. I will not name names, but they throw rolls at you. When I got there I was so... Unimpressed. I left. We got a bit further up the highway and I was like hmm.... Let's see what we can find. So I hit up a few websites and decided to let my fingers do the walking. Boom! We landed here. Maaaaannnn, am I glad my husband has a thing for fried fish! Otherwise, I would have never gotten to try all the items I did. Yes. I was being a fatty. What's the point in loosing a ton of weight if you can keep working on keeping it off. Ha ha ha. Offset! Cheat day! Whatever you want to call it. I called it "A good day to die!" *** In my best Bruce Willis voice*** I swear, I died a little with each bite. Except the Mac and cheese. But hey, That's a side. The fish... crunchy outside with a steamy flaky inside. Fried green tomatoes... Crunch outside, nice firm inside, and a roumalaude sauce I thought was going to not be so great, because of the consistency, but was one of the best I've tasted! The pulled pork, amazing. The greens were ok. Biscuit was average. But hold the freaking press.... The REUBEN... I was rendered speechless... For anyone who knows me. Knows this is an impossible feat! I ate everything guys. Shame on me. Nope. Shame on them for putting all this wonderful food in front of me! If you are ever passing through or just want to make a day trip, I'm telling you, this is the place! I would totally recommend! There's something for everyone and at a great price! You can even pop a squat in their patio area that's covered and heated! Good was great, service was fast and attentive. Would definitely go again. Decorations are definitely on theme. Pork ribeye and fried potatoes was excellent. Taco salad was perfectly prepared.
